Microsoft’s Lumia 550 with 4G LTE and Windows 10 has gone on sale, starting with Europe.
Priced at $139 USD “before local taxes and subsidies”, Microsoft Lumia 550 hits Europe’s store shelves a full two months after its formal introduction.
Lumia 550 has a 4.7-inch HD screen (16:9, 1280×720, 315 ppi) with Glance feature that lets users see their time, date, notifications, and calendar entries without having to unlock or activate your phone.
The main selling point of the device, besides its low price point, is that it comes bundled with all the usual Microsoft apps and features, including Office, Cortana, and OneDrive. The tight integration with OneDrive means you can work on your files across devices and pick up where you left off.
Lumia 550 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) 1.1 GHz quad-core processor, five-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus f/2.4 with LED Flash and a two megapixel front camera. It has 1GB RAM, 8GB mass memory and up to 200 GB Micro SD. Microsoft Lumia 550 comes in matte black and glossy white, and this is a 4G LTE ready smartphone.
Meanwhile, Amazon continues to take pre-orders at £90 and around €130 in the UK and countries like Germany respectively.
